About Me

Many have asked who I am, and about my training and experience.

Right now I am 71 yrs. old, a 5 yr survivor of prostate cancer, still blessed, thankful, relatively  healthy and happy.  For the last 15 yrs my wife, Glenda and I had been caregivers for her parents and were usually home with them.  For about 10 yrs my younger sister Sandra has helped me develop this website.  We are both strong believers in the ETERNAL HOLY SPIRIT OF ALL there is (there are over 100 names for “God” and over 4,200 religions.  I prefer the “I AM” to avoid any confusion to those who seek to know the Truth)I seek daily to be aware of His presence, wisdom and guidance in ALL things He reveals to us from the Creation to findings in science, Nature, medicine, etc.  and share what I am still learning with all my readers, friends, etc.

SIX MONTHS AGO THE DRS. FOUND THAT I HAVE THE BEGINNING SIGNS OF BONE CANCER.  THEY PUT ME ON HORMONE THERAPYFor all cases of bone cancer combined (in both adults and children), the 5-year relative survival is about 70%. (Survival rates for Ewing tumors and osteosarcoma can be found in our documents about those cancers.) For more click on:  http://www.cancer.org/Cancer/BoneCancer/OverviewGuide/bone-cancer-overview-survival-rates

3 months ago my PSA level dropped back to normal and the bone cancer seems to be in remission.  I am thankful for each day, hour, moment, breath, etc.  and am living in the NOW because we can’t change the pass and we can’t see the future.  We can only live in the NOW.  I am thankful for your prayers, thoughts, etc. and will keep writing and sharing  with you, even when I am no longer present in this body. -mackie

In my teenage yrs I joined Youth For Christ and became a follower of evangelist Billy Graham. At that age I played church, read and preached his sermons on Sunday mornings in our yard. My childhood friends would come dressed up for church. I preached and we sang songs.

At age 17 I joined the Navy and learned a lot about the other side of life. Once most of my oats were sown, I returned home and went into business with my father. I later joined a local church and became a choir director, sunday school teacher, deacon and began to lay preach. I entered college, was ordained, called, and then served several churches while becoming involved with a multi-level company.

Becoming aware that I would need to make more money to support my growing family, I studied for and became a Chartered Financial Consultant at The American CollegeBryn Mawr, PA.

As I had learned more about religions and philosophies I became aware there were similarities in their beliefs about a diety or dieties but far apart in who or what they were, expected and did. This led me to believe that there was a higher power, the Ground of all Being, the Eternal One, the Holy Spirit, the “I AM” who lives within us who came to us that we might have life more abundantly and continue to live forever in Spirit, love and truth.

I grew up in Florence, SC; served in the Navy from 58-64; have a BA from Baptist College, Charleston, SC 65-69 (now Charleston Southern University); a MDiv from Southeastern Seminary, Wake Forest, 70-73; DMin from Union Seminary, 77-79; served pastorates in Allendale, Sycamore, and Kline, SC; Charlottesville, VALouisburg and Williamston, NC.

I served as a minister and counselor 70-83; ChFC and CLU from American College, Bryn Mawr, PA 87-89; was in financial services and part time ministries 83-08.

My wife and I are still in part time ministries: preaching, singing, writing, guest speaking, seminars, counseling, personal consultant, etc. My wife, Glenda, has worked with me for over 35 years in our part time ministries, is an accomplished musician (piano and organ), served as secretary at several churches, worked for the Dept. of Agriculture, a restaurant catering manager, etc. and recently worked (part time) helping the unemployed find training and internships at Piedmont Technical College

We recently moved to the midlands of SC to be closer to our grown children, grandchildren, and to continue my treatment.
