GINGRICH FLUBS FACTS….AGAIN, etc.

ETCWASHINGTON (AP)Newt Gingrich called rival Mitt Romney a “terrible historian” but flubbed his own history in Congress on Monday night when he claimed the nation ran four consecutive budget surpluses during his time as House speaker. Romney attacked Gingrich’s financial links to Freddie Mac while ignoring his own.
The accusations were fast out of the gate in the latest Republican presidential debate, and reality got tromped in the process.
A look at some of claims and how they compare with the facts:
___
GINGRICH: “When I was speaker, we had four consecutive balanced budgets.”
THE FACTS: Actually, two.

The four straight years of budget surpluses were 1998 through 2001. Gingrich left Congress in 1999, so he only had a hand in surpluses for his last two years. The budget ran deficits for his first two years as speaker.
The highest surplus of that four-year string came in budget year 2000, after Gingrich was out of office.

STILL MISSING REVOLUTION OF 2,000 YRS

If you are seeking for more of the ETERNAL FORCE THAT CREATED AND IS CREATING AND CARING FOR ALL GOOD THINGS THROUGH THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN THIS “ETERNAL SPIRITUAL I AM“, HE IS ALREADY LIVING WITHIN YOU. Some of you are already experiencing it. IF NOT, NEED A VERSE?

“Don’t waste your time about when, who, or what may happen; THE KINGDOM OF GOD, HEAVEN, I AM, etc. ALREADY LIVES IN AND THROUGH YOU TO CONTINUE TO LOVE AND CARE FOR ALL CREATION AND THAT WITHIN” (luke 17:21).

Also, “But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you” (John 16:17 and ff). We all have doubts. Jesus was human and confused when he asked on the cross: “MY GOD, MY GOD! WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?” Jesus died and went on to be with the Holy Spirit and now lives in us.

After 2,000 yrs many people still worship the Bible as the word of God, instead of understanding that the Spirit of God lives within us and wants us to seek His guidance in truth and worship. So, what are we to do? Are we to stay in the first grade with those 66 books as the words of God, or as a history of what the writers thought about who their gods were? No more excuses: We are to sense, feel, seek after the Eternal Spirit in our hearts, not in an outdated misunderstood 66 books. We are now told and sense that the Holy Spirit wants to teach us new things about ourselves and the one and Only true ETERNAL SPIRIT as Jesus has done and wants us to do.

There has been a shift in many religious groups historically where people followed after a person who was telling them new things about hope that they had never heard before. The true hero kept telling the followers that he was only human, but believed in things never heard before. There crowds grew larger to the point where the people in power saw the hero as a threat to their religion or way of living. They begin following the crowd, questioning this hero whose answers threatened them. So they plotted to kill the hero by using some of his wayward followers to find out his journeys and a proper time to kill him. As the threats increased the hero became afraid and stated that he must leave. But, as usual, the hero waited too long and was slaughtered, stoned, crucified, etc. Of course, the faithful followers began to hide to avoid being murdered. They began to have visions and hear new things about their hero, but to no avail.

However, there is one hero that is unique: Jesus. Although he didn’t believe in the divinity of Jesus, Thomas Jefferson believed that the ethical system of Jesus was the finest the world has ever seen.

ONE OTHER UNIQUE THING ABOUT JESUS. HE IS THE ONE HERO KNOWN IN HUMAN HISTORY WHO PRAY AT HIS KILLING:

“FATHER FORGIVE THEM FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO.”

To know more about the “ETERNAL I AM” get in a quite space, relax and sense this presence in your breathing, blood flow, your entire body and listen as Jesus and many other Holy people have done and do because:

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit,

who lives in you and was given to you by God?

You do not belong to yourself. 1 Corinthians 6:19

ON BEING AWARE OF THE UNSEEN IN AND AROUND US…..

The more we become aware of our internal being the more we sense the ETERNAL BEING THAT LIVES IN ALL OF US. It’s similar to that feeling we have with a child, a close friend, a pet, etc (someone with whom we have fond feelings).

We have a strong desire to take care of that one just as the ETERNAL ONE wants to take care of us. Just be open to that PRESENCE and day by day you will sense this POWER AND LOVE FOR YOU MORE AND MORE-mackie.

Albert Einstein‘s quip that ‘God does not play dice with the universe’ was about quantum physics, not a statement of faith. But he did ponder the relationship between science and religion and his sense of ‘the order deeply hidden behind everything.’ We explore Einstein’s wisdom on mystery, eternity,…

WHY YOU SHOULD OCCUPY YOUR CONGRESSPERSONS……..

The economic gap between average Americans and our elected representatives in Congress has grown tremendously since the 1980s, according to an analysis conducted by The Washington Post.

Between 1984 and 2009, the median net worth of a member of the House more than doubled from $280,000 to $725,000 in inflation-adjusted dollars (excluding home equity). Meanwhile, the wealth of an American family has declined slightly over the same period, from $20,600 to $20,500.

While perhaps unsurprising – this mirrors the growing income inequality gap in the country – the growing divide between legislators and those they are supposed to represent has troubling implications for the health of our democracy. The greater the economic distance between average Americans and our lawmakers, the more our government “of the people, by the people” will become a government “of the 1%, by the 1%.”

WE CAN COME BACK FROM BEING BEHIND……

THAT USED TO BE US

How America Fell Behind in the World It Invented and How We Can Come BackBy Thomas L. Friedman and and Michael Mandelbaum 380 pages. Farrar, Straus & Giroux. $28.

In “That Used to Be Us” Thomas L. Friedman and Michael Mandelbaum join a growing number of foreign policy thinkers warning that America’s position abroad cannot endure without a renewal of the domestic sources of American prosperity and strength.

The concerns are justified. The United States faces the most profound set of challenges since the 1930s, when an economic depression and the breakdown of the British-led international order raised basic questions about our domestic politics and international strategy.

“That Used to Be Us” represents an effort by Mr. Mandelbaum, a professor at Johns Hopkins University and one of the country’s leading public intellectuals, and Mr. Friedman, a columnist for The New York Times whose three Pulitzer Prizes only hint at the global influence of his work, to describe the rocky conditions of the present day and prescribe a way forward. This may be an American crisis, but as Mr. Friedman and Mr. Mandelbaum eloquently explain, it is not just an American concern. Nor is it simply a matter of improving the living standards of future generations in this country. Because of the unique — and at this point irreplaceable — American role in providing important public services across the globe, the world as a whole will become a much poorer and more dangerous place if Americans fail at the task of national renewal.

The authors provide a thoughtful and balanced corrective to critics on the left who believe that our present economic troubles demonstrate the fundamental failure of the liberal democratic capitalist ideas on which American society is built, and the critics on the right who believe that only a return to 19th-century small government policies can save us. The principles behind our society, they argue, are broadly correct, but without institutional reform we cannot apply them as fairly or as fully as we should.

When it comes to solutions the authors reach for a classic American approach that — at least in my judgment — is fundamentally sound though difficult to apply. A long tradition of American thinkers and statesmen — George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, Henry Clay, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Dwight D. Eisenhower, to name a few — have argued that a strong and forward-looking federal government should promote a healthy domestic economy and a strong international presence. “

MILLIONAIRES: USA 1%; CONGRESS 46%. SEE PROBLEM?

?1% Millionaires in USA. 46% MILLIONAIRES IN THE CONGRESS. SEE THE PROBLEM? No wonder the majority of them want reduced taxes while taking benefits from middle class, poor & elderly, students, etc. Read or listen below.-mackie

President Obama’s “Buffett Rule” would mean a new tax for people who make more than a million dollars a year, who currently pay a much lower rate than an average middle-class American. The president, in fact, proposed this rule to a group of people with a lot of millionaires in it: Congress.

President Obama continued laying what may be more groundwork for his re-election campaign Monday, including a new tax proposal. He calls it the “Buffett rule”: a new tax on people making more than $1million a year, who currently pay a much lower rate than an average middle-class American. The president, in fact, proposed this rule to a group of people with a lot of millionaires in it.

The number of Americans who are millionaires is pretty low — about 1 percent of the population. Members of Congress who are millionaires? Nearly 50 percent.

He started in the U.S. Navy IN 58, received an honorable discharge as an Electronics Engineer, hired by NBM to recruit and train technicians to install background music throughout the Southeast.   He later felt a calling to go into church ministries.  He earned his BA, MDiv, and DMn degrees, was ordained and served several churches in the 70s-80s.  Later, because he was not able raise his children to receive a good education,  he continued to work with churches on a weekend basis, was recruited by a major financial firm to be trained as Chartered Financial Consultant that would lead to management.  He earned his Charter from the American College, was promoted and appointed district manager with 3 offices in the Virginia Beach and Newport News area.  After a few years his and his wife’s parents were becoming older and needed their help.  They became caregivers.    During this time Dr. Bazen wanted to find another need and fill it.  It was his concern for the polarization in churches, schools, politicians, communities, the growing gap between rich and poor, etc. that led him to a new venture.  Believing in “United we Stand, Divided we fall” he began developing the website to air all sides in truth. This has been going on and growing for over 10 years.

WHY JAILS AND PRISONS DON’T WORK……

Three hundred and fifty thousand: That’s a conservative estimate for the number of offenders with mental illness confined in America’s prisons and jails.

More Americans receive mental health treatment in prisons and jails than in hospitals or treatment centers. In fact, the three largest inpatient psychiatric facilities in the country are jails: Los Angeles County Jail, Rikers Island Jail in New York City and Cook County Jail in Illinois.

“We have a criminal justice system which has a very clear purpose: You get arrested. We want justice. We try you, and justice hopefully prevails. It was never built to handle people that were very, very ill, at least with mental illness,” Judge Steve Leifman tells Laura Sullivan, guest host of weekends on All Things Considered.

A failing system

When the government began closing state-run hospitals in the 1980s, people with mental illness had nowhere to turn; many ended up in jail. Leifman saw the problem first-hand decades ago in the courtroom. When individuals suffering from mental illness came before him accused of petty crimes, he didn’t have many options.

GOOD EMPLOYEES SHOULD BE CONTINUALLY TRAINED…

TO KEEP THE JOBS THEY HAVE.

CORPORATIONS AND UNIONS SHOULD BE TRAINING LAID OFF EMPLOYEES TO REQUALIFY FOR JOBS THAT ARE NEEDED. A GOOD EMPLOYER SHOULD KEEP EMPLOYEES UP TO DATE ON THE JOBS THEY HAVE AND ON THE NEW JOBS TO COME. IF A POLITICIAN DOES SUPPORT THIS, HE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND FIRED.~mackie

Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports:
In a statement, [Randy Radtke, president of the council,] added that the parade is intended to celebrate working men and women and what the labor movement has given them: weekends, a 40-hour workweek, child labor protection and a safe working environment.

www.npr.org

In previous years, Republicans have walked the parade route, but this year they will not be allowed to take part. The parade is organized by local unions, which said Wisconsin Republicans “have openly attacked worker’s rights.”
