HALF TRUTHS, LIES, ect. Believed by non thinkers VS FACTS…

My comments from reliable sources and history to an article written by an opinionated person sent to me by a friend.
 
Barack Obama is the best thing that has happened to America in the last 100 years. Truly, he is the savior of America ’s future. (No, it would be FDR in the last 100 yrs.)  Despite the fact that he has some of the lowest approval ratings among recent presidents (No,it’s about average), history will see Barack Obama as the source of America ’s resurrection. Barack Obama has plunged the country into levels of debt that we could not have previously imagined (NO, WW I, THE GREAT DEPRESSION, WW II, VIETNAM, ETC., WERE MUCH WORSE AND WERE NOT IMAGINED); his efforts to nationalize health care (ALREADY HELPING THOSE WHO REALLY NEEDED IT) have been met with fierce (BY A FEW) resistance nationwide.
 
TARP bailouts and stimulus spending (TARP APPROVED AND STIMULUS SUPPORTED BY BUSH) have shown little positive effect on the national economy (NO, IT HAS CUT THE HORROR OF WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN BY THE DO NOTHING OPPOSITION IN HALF); unemployment is unacceptably high ( and looks to remain that way for most of a decade; legacy entitlement programs have ballooned to unsustainable levels (TO PROTECT THE INNOCENT ONES WHO WOULD HAVE SUFFERED MUCH MORE), and there is a seething anger (BY A FEW) in the populace.

That’s why Barack Obama is such a good thing for America.  (AN ACCURATE HISTORY WILL TELL).

Surely there was waste. More accountability and regulation is needed by all (including our serves, schools, churches, businesses, corporations, governments, THE PENTAGON AND MILITARY COMPLEX, THE ENVIRONMENT, etc.).
 
BUT, THANK GOD SO FAR IN AMERICA, THE MAJORITY REACHES OUT (sometimes slowly, wastefully, feebly, etc) TO ALL PEOPLE TO HELP THEM HAVE LIFE, LIBERTY, AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.

GOP FACING DIVIDE ON IMMIGRATION….

Some prominent conservatives are speaking out in favor of the kind of comprehensive immigration bill that many Republicans oppose — one that would include border security and then a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.

As a leading evangelical conservative,

Richard Land’s credentials are impeccable. He heads the public policy arm of the Southern Baptist Convention, and from that influential perch he’s been urging his fellow conservatives to rethink their opposition to the immigration overhaul.

“I’ve had some of them appeal to me. They say, ‘Richard, you’re going to divide the conservative coalition.’ And I said, ‘Well, I may divide the old conservative coalition, but I’m not going to divide the new one.’ ”

Land adds, “If the new conservative coalition is going to be a governing coalition, it’s going to have to have a significant number of Hispanics in it, that’s dictated by demographics, and you don’t get large numbers of Hispanics to support you when you’re engaged in anti-Hispanic immigration rhetoric.”

Last week, when President Obama gave his speech on immigration, Land was in the audience. In fact, he had urged the president to make the speech. Obama called on both parties to rise above petty politics to fix the country’s broken immigration system.

Land says that will be very hard because, for both parties, there’s a short-term political advantage to doing nothing.’

Taxes at Lowest Level in 60 Years

I’m sure the teabaggers in DC today will be thanking Obama and the Democratic Congress for overcoming GOP obstructionism and lowering taxes to their lowest level in 60 years?

“The American people need to be reminded that 98 percent of Americans got a tax cut last year,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Wednesday.

Reid was referring to the impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, otherwise known as the stimulus — essentially, the only Obama policy to really impact people’s 2009 tax returns. In fact, tax refunds reached an all-time high this year in part because of the stimulus, the president said in his weekly address on Saturday. Meanwhile, taxes are at their lowest levels in 60 years, according to William Gale, co-director of the Tax Policy Center and director of the Retirement Security Project at the Brookings Institution.

“The relation between what is said in the tax debate and what is true about tax policy is often quite tenuous,” Gale told Hotsheet. “The rise of the Tea Party at at time when taxes are literally at their lowest in decades is really hard to understand.”

RADICAL ATTACKS ON OBAMA MORE HEATED..

With the selection of Barack Obama as the first black Democratic nominee for president seeming more possible by the day, racists and white supremacists are posting increasingly ugly and even threatening remarks on the Internet.

Above that signoff, Rodney wrote: “The KKK or someone WILL assassinate Obama! If we get a NIGGER President all you NIGGER’s [sic] will think you’ve won and that the WHITE people will have to bow to you……….”

CHECKING FOR RELIABLE SOURCES; NOT OPINION…

Truthorfiction.com, snopes.com, and factcheck.org are websites you can use to try to verify something. They are not infallible but try to get at the source of whether it is true or not.  Sometimes they give their own opinions which may or may not be true.
 
I sent you the website because there are some answers that we all are looking for.  OBAMA ONLY GAVE A BROAD OUT LINE, BUT IT IS THE CONGRESS WHO IS WRITING THE BILL.  It has input from democrats, republicans, and independents.
 
MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE BILL WILL NOT BE FINAL UNTIL IT GOES THROUGH BOTH HOUSES OF CONGRESS, IS DEBATED ON, AMENDED AND AGREED TO BY BOTH HOUSES.
 
Remember, our congresspeople are our employees.  I hope we all will call or email them and 
 
LET THEM SPECIFICALLY KNOW WHAT WE LIKE AND DON’T LIKE ABOUT THAT PART OF THE BILL.  IF WE DON’T THEN IT WILL BE A LONG TIME BEFORE WE GET ANY HEALTH-CARE REFORM. WITHOUT UNIVERSAL HEALTH-CARE THE 50 MILLION AND GROWING UNINSURED WILL CONTINUE GOING TO THE EMERGENCY ROOMS WHICH RAISES ALL OUR PREMIUMS WHICH WILL COST US MORE THAT PROVIDING HEALTH-CARE FOR EVERYONE, RIGHT?
