Do we try to get other people to do what we think they should be doing: quit smoking, drinking, cussing, gaying, over eating, yelling, picking your nose, dressing that way, call/come see me more, read your bible, go to church, etc. (add some more of you TRYING TO GET OTHERS TO DO WHAT YOU WANT THEM TO DO)?
FUNNY THING IS: NOT EVEN GOD (the Ground of all Being) DOES THAT. The Eternal Force that developed the laws of nature (over a long period of time) has left it up to us to do as we want to do (some call it free will). The more we live by the laws of nature and science the longer and better we live. The more we ignore the laws of nature and science (things as they really are) the more we suffer. IT REALLY IS UP TO US. WE EACH HAVE TO FIND OUR OWN WAY. WE LEARN BY DOING. Remember the prodigal son?
THE MORE WE TRY TO CONTROL OTHERS THE MORE WE LOSE THEM AND OURSELVES.
External noise is the same as the inner noise of thinking.
External silence is the same as inner stillness.*
In other words, if external noise bothers me it creates the inner noise of thinking. If I let the external noise pass me by then the silence comes and I experience an inner stillness, and in that stillness I sense a presence of the “Eternal Being.” It’s like learning to ride a bike; the more you do it the better you are at it.
As a young ignorant minister (all are) I thought I was going to learn all there is to know about GOD so that I could tell everybody else how to live or what to do. I WAS WRONG! As I read, studied and meditated about God I realized I knew less about God, and myself. WE ARE NOT IN CONTROL; WE ARE NOT WHO WE THINK WE ARE OR WHO GOD IS.
