POLL: PUBLIC SAYS CONGRESS NOT LISTENING

Perhaps no other issue Congress deals with touches every American as intimately as health care. Yet a new poll by NPR, the Kaiser Family Foundation, and the Harvard School of Public Health finds that, so far, the public feels profoundly shut out of the current health overhaul debate.

“Most people don’t feel that they personally have a voice in this debate,” said Mollyann Brodie, director of public opinion and survey research for the Kaiser Family Foundation. “In fact, 71 percent told us that Congress was paying too little attention to what people like them were saying.”

Nancy Turtenwald is one of those people. The tourist from Milwaukee was walking around the sparkling new visitor center at the U.S. Capitol Tuesday. She was quick to agree with poll findings that the lawmakers debating the massive health overhaul bill just a few blocks away weren’t much interested in problems like hers.

With the selection of Barack Obama as the first black Democratic nominee for president seeming more possible by the day, racists and white supremacists are posting increasingly ugly and even threatening remarks on the Internet.

Above that signoff, Rodney wrote: “The KKK or someone WILL assassinate Obama! If we get a NIGGER President all you NIGGER’s [sic] will think you’ve won and that the WHITE people will have to bow to you……….”

SHARON JASPER BEING USED TO OPPOSE HEALTH CARE REFORM…

First of all, the statements attributed to Sharon Jasper are unproven and were probably fabricated.
 
Secondly, it’s a typical diversion tactic, or trigger point….like abortion and gay marriage.
 
Diversion tactics allow powerful interests….like the huge pharmaceuticals and insurance companies….to trigger emotion and divert attention from the real issue at hand…..like inequality in our society….. and to promote their own agenda…..like defeat of universal health care…….. so that they may continue their strangle hold on and financial rape of America.
 
Who do you think puts these articles out on the Internet?   WAKE UP!!!!

CHECKING FOR RELIABLE SOURCES; NOT OPINION…

Truthorfiction.com, snopes.com, and factcheck.org are websites you can use to try to verify something. They are not infallible but try to get at the source of whether it is true or not.  Sometimes they give their own opinions which may or may not be true.
 
I sent you the website because there are some answers that we all are looking for.  OBAMA ONLY GAVE A BROAD OUT LINE, BUT IT IS THE CONGRESS WHO IS WRITING THE BILL.  It has input from democrats, republicans, and independents.
 
MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE BILL WILL NOT BE FINAL UNTIL IT GOES THROUGH BOTH HOUSES OF CONGRESS, IS DEBATED ON, AMENDED AND AGREED TO BY BOTH HOUSES.
 
Remember, our congresspeople are our employees.  I hope we all will call or email them and 
 
LET THEM SPECIFICALLY KNOW WHAT WE LIKE AND DON’T LIKE ABOUT THAT PART OF THE BILL.  IF WE DON’T THEN IT WILL BE A LONG TIME BEFORE WE GET ANY HEALTH-CARE REFORM. WITHOUT UNIVERSAL HEALTH-CARE THE 50 MILLION AND GROWING UNINSURED WILL CONTINUE GOING TO THE EMERGENCY ROOMS WHICH RAISES ALL OUR PREMIUMS WHICH WILL COST US MORE THAT PROVIDING HEALTH-CARE FOR EVERYONE, RIGHT?

THE GREATEST CITIZENS BEING MISLED?

You are so right.  When the gov. allowed anyone to say anything on all media published to the public without the right of those who disagree to respond we lost our freedom of speech.
 
When one person or organization has spent a lot or money to get their point accross FREEDOM OF SPEECH DEMANDS THAT AN OPPOSING INDIVIDUAL CAN RESPOND ON THE SAME MEDIAN WITHOUT COST.
 
ALL CITIZENS WITHOUT THIS FREEDOM WILL BE CONTROLLED AND PUNISHED BY THOSE THAT DO.
 
THERE ARE MANY EXAMPLES; I CITE ONLY ONE: IRAN.
 
EVERY PROBLEM WE HAVE IN AMERICA HAS COME FROM ALLOWING THE RICH AND POWERFUL TO LIMIT THE FREEDOM OF THOSE WHO DISAGREE AND HAVE THE RIGHT TO RESPOND IN THE SAME MEDIAM WITHOUT COST.
 
WE HAVE TO GET BACK TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY, BARTERING AND SUPPORTING THOSE WE KNOW THAT WE CAN TRUST TO PROVIDE A SAFE PRODUCT FOR US TO CONSUME.
 
ONCE GREED TOOK OVER WITH THE IDEA THAT WE COULD LET THE POOR IN OTHER COUNTRIES CREATE THE PRODUCTS WE WANTED AND SELL THEM BACK TO US AT A CHEAPER PRICE (with a disregard of inspection of these products as to our safety) WE BEGAN TO DESTROY OUR LOCAL NEIGHBORS AND THEIR TRADE BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT COMPETE.
 
EVEN MORE DRASTIC, WE ALLOWED OUR CORPORATIONS TO MOVE JOBS OVERSEAS WITH NO TAX OBLIGATIONS AND ALLOWED OUR OWN, GOOD, PRODUCTIVE CITIZENS (with high regulation on producing safe products) to become unemployed.
 
DO YOU REMEMBER THE LYING LINE FROM OUR GOVERNMENT AND CORPORATE LEADERS?: “WE ARE BECOMING AN INFORMATIONAL SYSTEM OF WHICH THE WORLD WILL DEPEND ON US.”
 
FOR EVERY STEP WE MOVE FROM PRODUCING OUR OWN PRODUCTS WE ALLOW SNAKE OIL EXECUTIVES TO MAKE MORE MONEY BY CONTROLLING OUR MEDIA AND BUYING OFF OUR POLITICIANS TO MAKE MORE LAWS FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO MAKE MORE MONEY OFF OF HONEST WORKERS AND THEIR ASSETS, HEALTH CARE, INVESTMENTS, ETC.
